Common Room Reservations

**PLEASE NOTE! The Recreation Room at 35 will be re-opening in Spring 2017. The Meeting Room will at that point only be available to use as a meeting room or study space. Please speak to the Residence Office staff for details and to book.

In order to book the Meeting Room (at 30 Charles Street W.), you will need to complete the application form found at the Residence Office and return it to the Res Office staff.

Rules and Regulations Regarding Room Reservations

  • The Meeting Room will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • The Recreation Room when re-opened is to be used only for personal gatherings (family/friends) such as social functions, study groups, or meetings.
  • The Meeting Room will only be used for study groups or meetings.
  • Leaseholders only are permitted to acquire and use the Meeting Room and Recreation Room for private use.
  • Events held in the Recreation Room or Meeting Room cannot be advertised in advance of the event to residents of the building or externally unless it is a Residence Office event or if advertising has been explicitly approved by the Residence Office. These rooms are not permitted to be used for canvassing, soliciting, recruiting, or promotions by the resident.
  • The conduct and safety of the people occupying the facility is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
  • The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in these locations unless the resident obtains all necessary permits issued by the Province of Ontario at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) (applications can be made for the Recreation Room only).
  • Any damage caused to the facilities by anyone attending the function will be the sole responsibility of the applicant.
  • The leaseholder(s) of the apartment that have reserved the room must be present at all times during the booking.
  • All events must end on or before 11:00 PM.
  • Ensure that the room is cleaned and restored to its former condition after use, and all waste or garbage is removed and properly disposed of prior to the end of the event.
  • Ensure that the rooms will not be used for unlawful or immoral purposes and that illegal substances will not be sold, purchased, or used in any way.
